According to research by The PUNCH, more banks have started closing their branches as the currency shortage worsens. Lengthy lines are still seen at the ATMs of numerous commercial banks in Lagos, Ogun, Abuja, and other regions of the nation.

More Nigerians are becoming irritated owing to their inability to acquire cash for their everyday transactions as the February 10 deadline for the old N1000, N500, and N200 notes to cease being legal money draws near.

The Central Bank of Nigeria was urged not to enforce the deadline of February 10 as a result of an order issued by the Supreme Court.

In response to the shortage, several commercial banks’ branches in Lagos have joined the growing list of institutions that ceased operations.
