The Federal Government has begun discussions with the Spanish government to encourage investment in the petroleum sector, leveraging possibilities made possible by the Petroleum Industry Act, with gas serving as Nigeria’s transition fuel (PIA).
While hosting a delegation from Spain led by its Foreign Affairs Minister, Jose Manuel Albares, the Minister of State for Petroleum Resources, Mr. Timipre Sylva, referred to Spain as one of Nigeria’s most important trading partners.
He claimed that since the company’s founding, Spain has been a significant partner of Nigerian Liquefied Natural Gas (NLNG).
The head of the Spanish delegation stated that Nigeria was their second-largest global partner. “We are grateful to the Minister for highlighting investment opportunities in the oil and gas sector.
