At the Federal High Court in Lagos, attorneys for the Federal Government and the domestic airlines are anticipated to meet as the legal case involving the contentious national carrier, Nigeria Air, progresses. To some point in December 2022, the case had been postponed to January 16, 2023.

In the meantime, attorneys for Nigeria Air, the Minister of Aviation, Hadi Sirika, and the Attorney General of the Federation, Abubakar Malami, filed a motion of notice requesting that the case be transferred from the Federal High Court in Lagos to the Federal High Court in Abuja.

The attorneys cited jurisdictional concerns as a primary factor. The plaintiffs were slated to submit a counter affidavit to contest the motion, according to representatives of domestic airlines operating under the auspices of the Airline Operators of Nigeria.
