The Federal Government dispatched a team of investigators to look into the Trans Niger pipeline leak.
Following an unauthorized connection in the Nonwa-Uedume community axis in Tai Local Government Area of Rivers State, Shell Petroleum Development Company confirmed the leak on its Trans Niger Pipeline.
The PUNCH had reported on the discovery of a pipeline in the neighborhood that was being used by illegal refiners to steal crude oil. Abimbola Essien-Nelson, the media relations manager for Shell Companies in Nigeria, however, claimed that the company had already begun making repairs to the leaky pipeline.
