Nigeria FG Allays Fears on Election Cancellation.

The federal government has guaranteed that the scheduled February 25 and March 11 general elections in 2023 will take place as planned.

Alhaji Lai Mohammed, Minister of Information and Culture, provided the assurance in Abuja at the 17th installment of the PMB scorecard series (2015-2023).

The minister stated that there was no need for concern and that INEC was coordinating with security organizations to ensure a peaceful conduct of the elections.

However, he acknowledged that the OMICRON variant has been present in Nigeria since 2021 and allayed concerns about the arrival of new COVID-19 virus variants there.

Ehanire described the exodus of medical professionals and other skilled workers from Nigeria as a global problem that impacts even developed nations, citing Ghana, Gambia,Egypt, Turkey, UK as some of the countries losing medical doctors and others in the medical field.
