Nigeria: Lekki Port Starts Discussions On A Liquid Berth Terminal.

According to Laurence Smith, the Chief Operating Officer of Lekki Port LFTZ Enterprise Limited, discussions have begun with potential managers of the liquid berth terminals.

Smith, who recently made this statement in Lagos to journalists during the company’s end-of-year press briefing, also said that the port will start operating commercially in the first quarter of 2023.

In order to start the construction of Phase 2 of the port, he declared, “Lekki Port has already opened up discussions with potential operators of the liquid berth terminals.” Smith added that after the installations are complete, the trial operations will begin.

The terminal operator, Lekki Free Port Terminal, will be carrying out maintenance until the end of the first quarter of 2023, when full commercial operation will start. “Also speaking, the Managing- Director of Lekki Port LFTZ Enterprise Limited, Mr Du Ruogang, has appealed for more support in the area of infrastructure to boost cargo evacuation.
