Nigeria: Workers and Businesses can Dispute Tax Burdens.

0 241

Taxpayers have the right to appeal and protest tax obligations imposed on them by any government, according to a tax agency, Ultimate Tax Relief, in Lagos. In an interview with The PUNCH, Chief Executive Officer Dr. Habeeb Fasuyi said that there were numerous murky areas in tax legislation that may be misunderstood.

Any tax responsibilities that the tax authority imposes upon them are subject to protest and appeal.
Taxpayers require a tax expert who is knowledgeable about the law and who will speak out for their rights, he said. He described how UTR would help taxpayers negotiate, resolve, and argue for their tax liabilities.
