The South South Reawakening Group (SSRG) demanded that the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) Governor, Mr. Godwin Emefiele, explain himself against claims that he was sponsoring terrorism. Because his acts are detrimental to the general security of the country, the judge who issued the order has to be censured.
Emefiele ought to be brought in for questioning, and if found guilty, should be subjected to the full force of the law; otherwise, he ought to be released. The group urged the DSS to disclose all relevant information, stating that it must have acted in a reasonable manner as an agency tasked with upholding the law.
Therefore the action of the DSS approaching a court is counterproductive to the tenets of keeping with the ethos of national security.
