Britain prepares for Strike Action as Nurses Walk Out.

The largest wave of industrial action to hit the nation in decades will hit Britain as nurses strike, putting additional strain on already overcrowded hospitals and increasing pressure on Prime Minister Rishi Sunak to put a stop to it.

The worst month for disruption since July 1989 is predicted to be December, according to union estimates, with more than 1 million working days lost. After only six weeks on the job, Sunak has already criticized union leaders and claimed that the government cannot afford to give public sector employees pay increases that keep up with inflation.

The 1 million working days expected to be lost to strikes this December compares to the 12 million lost in September 1979, a period in British history known as the “winter of discontent”,
