Nigerians would no longer be able to register businesses without the National Identification Number (NIN), according to the federal government.

At the monthly reform seminar hosted by the Bureau of Public Service Reform in Abuja, the registrar of the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC), Alhaji Garba Abubakar, made this disclosure (BPSR). He pointed out the need to confirm the accuracy of the data they are gathering.

On the subject of security, he added that the National Identification Number (NIN) was chosen by the Corporate Affairs Commission (CAC) as a replacement for the easily cloned National Identity Card, Passport, and Driver’s License.
