Chinese and Mota-Engil Enterprises are Shortlisted for a $2.5 billion Bridge Construction in Lagos, Nigeria.

Lagos state in Nigeria has selected a group to build a $2. 5 billion bridge that is anticipated to ease severe traffic in the megacity. The group is led by Portuguese contractor Mota-Engil and two Chinese companies, an official said.

A public-private partnership will be used to construct the 37 km Fourth Mainland Bridge. According to Jubril Gawat, a senior spokeswoman for the governor of Lagos state, it would include three toll plazas, nine interchanges, and a design speed of 120 km/h.

China Communication and Construction Corporation and China Road and Bridge Corporation are partners in the bid alongside Mota-Engil.

The other two contenders on the short list are a partnership between China Gezhouba Group Company and China Geo-Engineering Corporation and a group headed by China Civil Engineering Construction Corporation.
