Gasoline Integrated International announced its willingness to develop a $3 billion refinery in the state’s Tongeji Island, Ipokia Local Government Area, marking a significant step toward Ogun State becoming an oil-producing state.

The refinery, when finished, will have the ability to process 400,000 liters of crude oil into gasoline each day, according to a statement made in Abeokuta by the Governor’s Chief Press Secretary, Kunle Somorin.

He said that 800 hectares of the project’s site had already been purchased. The Olowu of Owu, Oba Saka Matemilola, who headed the team, also spoke, stating that the firm was in the state to explore for oil and develop a refinery for petroleum products.
