The Federal Government has pushed the development of cooperatives to provide housing options for low and medium-income earners as part of efforts to close the nation’s housing gap.
The advise was by Dr. Adeyemi Dipeolu, Special Adviser to the President on Economic Matters, during a presentation at the Nigeria Affordable Housing Finance and Innovation Summit in Abuja; with the title “Maximising effect of pension for equality on affordable housing delivery.”
According to him, innovation must be effective to increase the number of accessible dwellings in the nation; since housing is a basic human necessity.
Cooperative housing is a type of self-help, according to the convener of Nigerian Integrated Social Housing; Yemi Adelakun, who stated this in his remarks.
