FG Pledges to Invest $457million in Off-grid Electrification Projects.

The federal government has pledged $392 million and disbursed a total of $64.8 million; for the creation of off-grid electrification projects in the 36 federated states and the Federal Capital Territory,

As a result, the government’s overall commitment to overseeing the projects is anticipated to be $456. 8 million, or N196.424 billion using the official exchange rate in effect today.

With the intention of supplying off-grid energy to 705,000 people, the World Bank and the African Development Bank made a total of $550 million; in credit facilities available to Nigeria under the NEP.

Out of 267 agreements, only 67 mini-grids have been executed to date “she declared.

When asked to list a few of the states where the mini-grids and other NEP initiatives have been implemented, Salhijo responded; “The 36 states across the nation and Abuja have benefitted from the Nigeria Electrification Project.
