The Federal Government had the best non-oil export performance this year, with a total value of $2. 59 billion, according to the Executive Director/CEO of the Nigerian Export Promotion Council (NEPC).
According to him, this amounts to a 62.37 percent increase over the $1. 60 billion recorded during the same period in 2021. He also noted that the country’s non-oil export performance has improved, going from just fifteen in 2016 to thirty-four (34) at the moment; with Bayelsa and Yobe states expected to join for full national coverage.
As crucial as the SCEP is to the growth of non-oil exports in the nation, it is not being use to its full potential.
A forum to talk about identified challenges bedevilling SCEP operations in each state; and to jointly proffer workable solutions has been organized.
