Mayor Vitaly Klitschko has confirmed that several explosions rocked central Kiev amid reports of a new wave of drone strikes; one week after Russia launched a significant attack on Ukraine’s vital energy and military infrastructure.
He later added that several residential buildings were damage as a result of a fire that started in a non-residential structure.
Anton Gerashchenko, an advisor to the interior minister, claimed that witnesses had heard the sound of kamikaze drones in the air; and that they had targeted vital infrastructure close to Kiev’s main train station. There have also been reports of Russian strikes in other regions of the nation.
“The claimed attacks came a week after Russia launched a volley of missiles and drones that targeted Ukrainian military installations; and infrastructure across the country over two days.
