TCN to Increase Nigeria’s Electricity Supply by 817MW.

Plans to increase Nigeria’s electricity supply to the National Grid by 817 Megawatts have been made public by Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN) (MWs).

The TCN CEO stated that the project, is sponsored by the French Development Agency, a donor agency; and that when it is finished, it is anticipated to add 1,465 ltransmission lines to the grid; and increase the current power supply.

He said that the project will extend Abuja’s electrical infrastructure by adding five transmission substations; 143 kilometers of 330 kV, and 81 kilometers of 132 kV transmission lines.

As evidenced by data from the Transmission Company of Nigeria (TCN), Nairametrics reported that Nigerians have been experiencing better power supply in recent weeks. The daily tracker of electricity generation in Nigeria reveals that production increased significantly; at a record high of 5,043 megawatts (MW) on 1st September 2022, an 8. 1% increase when compared to 4,664MW recorded the day before.
