Investors’ Groups Criticize the Kogi Government and Claim That Any Action Taken Over Dangote Cement Would be Risky.
The Federal Government of Nigeria has been urged by a group of shareholder associations; to step in immediately and persuade the Kogi State government to stop harassing investors in Kogi State.
They called it barbaric to use thugs to humiliate investors, as was done to Dangote Cement and other businesses in Kogi State; and noted that such a deplorable situation will severely deter both domestic and foreign investment into the nation.
According to the founder of the Independent Shareholders Association of Nigeria (ISAN) and President of Boys Brigade Nigeria (BBN), they should have filed a lawsuit against any publicly traded company; rather than use a brutal and barbaric tactic like chasing employees with guns and cutlasses through the streets.
“Therefore, what the Kogi State Government did, honestly was very bad and disappointing. This action is bad and will smear the image of both the Federal and State government.
