Google Commits Over $200million To Nigeria and Other Africa Countries.

In the past year, Google has invested well over $200 million in Nigeria and other countries in Africa. This was revealed to media at a roundtable online discussion following the Google; for Africa event by Niral Patel, Director of Google Cloud Africa.

Sundar Pichai, the company’s CEO, announced a $1 billion investment commitment to the region over a five-year period; during the 2021 Google for Africa.

Speaking to media, Patel claimed that although he couldn’t reveal the precise sum that the firm had invested, it had invested far more than 20% on the continent. The company said during this year’s event that the launch of its undersea cable, Equiano, will occur before the end of 2022.
