In order to achieve vaccine equity in Nigeria, the Federal Government and the Serum Institute of India have announced a cooperation for local vaccine production.
Dr. Faisal Shuaib, ED/CEO of the National Primary Health Care Development Agency, revealed this. He said that the talks would serve as a springboard for Nigeria to become self-sufficient in vaccines.
The administration of President Muhammadu Buhari, according to Dr. Shuaib, has prioritized the manufacture of indigenous vaccines; “and this is one reason we have been engaging partners of interest on actualizing this extremely important project.”
