World Bank Distributes $31.7billion, Gives $700million To Nigeria.

The World Bank reported that 2022 is among the ten warmest years on record. And that the effects of the climate could cause millions of people to fall into poverty.

It declared its commitment to helping Nigeria and other developing nations reduce their greenhouse gas emissions; and build their capacity to withstand the effects of climate change while simultaneously addressing their top development priorities.

The $31.7 billion that was for the Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes Project, $700 million went to Nigeria. The project’s goal is to create 20 watershed management plans that will span the entirety of the country’s northern region.

It declared its commitment to helping Nigeria and other developing nations reduce their greenhouse gas emissions and build their capacity to withstand the effects of climate change while simultaneously addressing their top development priorities.
