Lawan: Government-owned enterprises can generate N3trn revenue annually

Senate President Ahmad Lawan says revenue generating agencies of the federal government are capable of generating N3 trillion annually.

Lawan said this on Monday in Abuja at an interactive session on the need to improve internally generated revenue (IGR) of government, as contained in the 2022 appropriation act.

The meeting was between the Senate leadership, members of the Senate committee on finance and revenue-generating agencies of government.

He assured that the Senate would provide the needed support through legislation to ensure that revenue agencies meet and surpass their targets.
