Google has delivered a strong response to concerns over its massive artificial intelligence spending, posting impressive earnings that highlight the growing impact of AI across its business. The tech giant’s latest financial report shows that its cloud division is experiencing explosive growth, giving investors fresh confidence that the company’s aggressive investments in AI are beginning to pay off.
Google Cloud emerged as one of the biggest success stories of the quarter, with revenue soaring 82% year-over-year to reach $24.8 billion. The figure significantly exceeded Wall Street expectations and outpaced the previous quarter’s already impressive 63% growth rate. According to the company, the surge was largely driven by increasing demand for enterprise AI solutions and AI-powered cloud infrastructure as businesses continue to integrate artificial intelligence into their operations.
Beyond cloud services, Alphabet reported a remarkable financial performance across its broader business. The company’s profit climbed to $112.1 billion, a dramatic increase from $28.1 billion during the same period last year. Overall revenue also rose 24% to $119.8 billion, while Google Services — which includes products such as Search, YouTube, and subscriptions — generated $94.5 billion in revenue, marking a 15% increase from a year ago.
Google’s AI ambitions are also gaining traction with consumers. The company revealed that Gemini, its flagship AI chatbot, now attracts 950 million monthly active users, up from 750 million reported in late 2025. The rapid growth highlights the increasing adoption of AI tools worldwide and strengthens Google’s position in the highly competitive artificial intelligence market.
Despite the positive results, Alphabet continues to spend heavily on its AI future. The company expects annual capital expenditures to reach between $180 billion and $190 billion as it expands data centers, acquires advanced chips, and builds new infrastructure. Addressing questions from analysts, CEO Sundar Pichai expressed confidence that these investments will deliver long-term value, pointing to strong demand and a growing pipeline of major enterprise contracts. With cloud growth accelerating and AI adoption rising across both businesses and consumers, Alphabet appears more convinced than ever that its AI strategy is setting the stage for future growth.
