Global consumer electronics giant TCL has strengthened its commitment to the Nigerian market with the launch of its 2026 lineup of AI-powered smart home products. The unveiling, held in Lagos, featured a range of next-generation smart televisions, air conditioners, refrigerators, and washing machines designed to combine advanced technology, energy efficiency, and convenience for modern households. The move signals TCL’s ambition to expand its footprint in Nigeria while making premium technology more accessible to consumers.
Speaking at the event, TCL West Africa General Manager Daniel Ray described Nigeria as one of the company’s most important markets in Africa. He noted that the newly launched products were developed to meet the evolving lifestyle needs of consumers, bringing global innovations closer to everyday users. According to Ray, TCL remains committed to its philosophy of delivering premium technology at affordable prices, ensuring that innovation improves daily life without placing it out of reach for customers.
Among the highlights of the 2026 product range is the C7 SQD Mini-LED television and the FreshIN 3.0 smart air conditioner, both equipped with artificial intelligence features. TCL said the FreshIN 3.0 can deliver significant energy savings compared to conventional cooling systems while offering features such as offline voice control, air purification, self-cleaning technology, and compatibility with popular smart home platforms. The company also introduced the Power V7 floor-standing air conditioner, designed for larger spaces and enhanced with AI-powered energy management capabilities.
Beyond product innovation, TCL revealed that it is exploring opportunities for local assembly in Nigeria through its partnership with SIMS Nigeria. The initiative, if implemented, could help strengthen local manufacturing capacity, create employment opportunities, and increase the company’s long-term investment in the country. Company officials said the move aligns with broader efforts to deepen local value creation while supporting Nigeria’s growing technology and consumer electronics sector.
SIMS Nigeria, TCL’s sole distributor in the country, reaffirmed its commitment to ensuring nationwide availability and after-sales support for the new products. Managing Director Ike Eyisi stated that customer feedback has played a key role in improving energy efficiency, voltage regulation, and overall product performance. He added that SIMS is investing in training programmes for engineers and technicians while partnering with Nigerian universities to encourage technology transfer and skills development. The new TCL product range is now available through SIMS outlets, authorised dealers, and online retail platforms across Nigeria.
