Google has announced a fresh expansion of its AI-powered browsing feature, Gemini in Chrome, rolling it out to seven additional countries. The update, revealed on Monday by Google, brings the feature to users in Australia, Indonesia, Japan, the Philippines, Singapore, South Korea, and Vietnam. The rollout covers both desktop and iOS platforms in all listed markets, except Japan, where availability remains limited.

The move reflects Google’s growing push to embed artificial intelligence more deeply into everyday browsing. Since last year, the tech giant has steadily integrated its Gemini assistant into Chrome through a floating interface designed to make interactions smoother and more intuitive for users.

Earlier in 2026, Google introduced a more advanced sidebar assistant within Chrome, enabling users to interact with content across multiple tabs. This feature leverages Gemini’s Personal Intelligence capabilities, allowing it to connect seamlessly with services like Gmail and Google Photos. As a result, users can perform tasks such as scheduling meetings via Google Calendar, checking directions through Google Maps, and drafting emails directly within the browser.

Beyond productivity, the AI assistant also introduces creative tools. Users can now modify and enhance images they encounter online using the Nano Banana 2 feature embedded in the sidebar, signaling Google’s effort to blend creativity with functionality in everyday web use.

Gemini in Chrome was initially launched in the United States in January, before expanding to India, Canada, and New Zealand in March. While this latest rollout significantly broadens global access, some advanced capabilities are still in testing. Notably, the agentic feature—which can autonomously control browser actions—is currently limited to subscribers of premium AI plans in the U.S., hinting at further innovations yet to be fully released worldwide.
