Nigerian Breweries Plc has reported a remarkable turnaround, posting revenue of N1.467 trillion for the financial year ending December 2025. This figure represents a 35% increase from the N1.084 trillion recorded in 2024, signalling a strong recovery after a challenging previous year impacted by macroeconomic pressures.

The company’s gross profit also surged, rising from N320 billion in Q4 2024 to N565 billion in Q4 2025, a 77% increase that highlights the effectiveness of strategic initiatives undertaken during the year. However, costs rose as well, with the cost of sales climbing from N765 billion to N902 billion and marketing, distribution, and administrative expenses increasing by 43% to N364 billion.

Uaboi Agbebaku, company secretary and legal director at Nigerian Breweries, explained that the revenue growth was fueled by sustained innovation, premiumisation, smart pricing, and strong commercial execution. He added that the growth in operating profit reflects disciplined cost management, productivity improvements, and supply chain efficiencies driven by the company’s 2024 business recovery plan.

The firm also saw a significant profit rebound, with group operating profit increasing by over 190% and net profit surging by 168% from a net loss a year earlier. This improvement was supported by an 83% reduction in net finance costs, following a successful rights issue in 2024 that reduced debt and foreign currency exposure.

Despite these gains, Nigerian Breweries’ retained earnings remain negative, a consequence of heavy losses over the past two years. The company reassured stakeholders that the journey to profitability continues, citing the full acquisition and integration of Distell Wines and Spirits Nigeria Limited, which will expand its portfolio beyond beer and contribute to long-term growth. Nigerian Breweries emphasized that continued shareholder support, innovation, and financial discipline will drive sustainable growth and long-term value creation.
