The Nigerian National Petroleum Company Limited (NNPC) has reported a remarkable N60.5 trillion in revenue for 2025, alongside a profit after tax of N5.76 trillion. The state-owned energy giant also remitted N14.706 trillion to government agencies, underlining its significant contribution to Nigeria’s fiscal coffers.

In its monthly report, NNPC detailed that crude oil and condensate production averaged 1.54 million barrels per day in December 2025, while natural gas production reached 6.914 billion standard cubic feet per day. Retail operations also saw notable performance, with 65 per cent product availability at service stations and full operational capacity across upstream pipelines.

The company highlighted major infrastructure milestones, reporting 91 per cent completion for both the Obiafu-Obrikom-Oben (OB3) and Ajaokuta-Kaduna-Kano (AKK) pipeline projects. These projects are expected to further stabilize production and distribution once fully operational, supporting long-term growth for Nigeria’s energy sector.

However, the report acknowledged operational challenges, noting that December’s production was affected by planned maintenance at Stardeep-Agbami and Renaissance-Estuary Area facilities, along with some unplanned outages. Despite these hiccups, NNPC’s overall financial performance remained robust, reflecting strong management and strategic planning.

This follows a dip in monthly revenue in November 2025, which fell 14.17 per cent to N4.358 trillion. Even so, profit after tax increased 12.3 per cent to N502 billion for the month. Total government remittances for January through October 2025 had already reached N12.117 trillion, signaling consistent fiscal support from the energy sector.
