The NASD Securities Exchange has reported a remarkable growth in 2025, with its market capitalisation hitting N2.12 trillion—an increase of 106% from N1.03 trillion recorded in 2024. This surge is attributed to new company listings and overall price appreciation, reflecting a period of strong investor confidence and market activity.

Throughout the year, NASD’s diversification strategy played a key role in expanding its platform. The exchange saw increased listings and greater activity across its alternative trading platforms, reinforcing its reputation as a flexible capital-raising hub beyond the traditional stock market.

While trading on the flagship Over-the-Counter (OTC) market remained moderate, it was bolstered by new admissions and improved stability among existing securities. This balance helped maintain investor interest and contributed to the overall growth story of the exchange.

The NASD Pension Index (NPI) also posted impressive gains, climbing 215% to reach 3,002.68 points, compared with 954.33 points in 2024. Listing activity continued to be a major driver of growth, signaling a healthy pipeline of investment opportunities for both institutional and retail investors.

Commenting on the performance, NASD Managing Director and CEO Mr. Eguarekhide Longe said, “The performance reinforces our positioning as Nigeria’s leading alternative securities exchange, providing flexible capital-raising and investment platforms outside the traditional exchange framework.” The results highlight NASD’s successful shift from strategy formulation to tangible execution.
