Dangote Petroleum Refinery has unveiled a nationwide hotline to empower Nigerians to report filling stations selling Premium Motor Spirit (PMS) above the approved price of N739 per litre. The hotline, reachable at 0800 123 5264, is part of the refinery’s effort to ensure that affordable, high-quality fuel is accessible to every consumer across the country.

The initiative targets over 2,000 MRS Oil Nigeria Plc stations, where overpricing has been reported despite the refinery’s recent price adjustment. Dangote Petroleum emphasised that this move is crucial to prevent artificial fuel scarcity and protect consumers, especially during the busy festive season when demand spikes.

With a guaranteed daily output of 50 million litres, the refinery warned against attempts by unscrupulous operators to manipulate fuel supply. “Any attempt to create artificial scarcity or frustrate the recent price reductions is unpatriotic and unacceptable,” the company stated, urging regulatory authorities to remain vigilant and take firm action.

Dangote Petroleum also highlighted the broader benefits of local refining at scale. By producing fuel domestically, Nigeria can reduce dependency on imports, conserve foreign exchange, stabilize the Naira, and strengthen national energy security. Consumers are encouraged to purchase PMS at the official price and avoid overpriced alternatives.

The refinery concluded by reminding Nigerians that collective vigilance is key. “Report any MRS station selling above N739 by calling our hotline. Together, we can ensure that the benefits of this price reduction reach every consumer,” the statement added, reinforcing the company’s commitment to affordable fuel and fair market practices.
