As consumers increasingly turn to ChatGPT instead of Google, the way people discover products is shifting — and Berlin-based startup Peec AI is poised to capitalize on this change. The company, which helps brands track and optimize their visibility in AI-powered searches, has raised $21 million in a Series A round led by European venture capital firm Singular. CEO Marius Meiners confirmed the company’s valuation has now surpassed $100 million, tripling in just four months.
Peec AI has grown rapidly since its launch, attracting over 1,300 companies and agencies to its platform and generating more than $4 million in annual recurring revenue within ten months. The platform not only monitors brand visibility in AI searches but also tracks sentiment and identifies the sources shaping these answers. This insight enables marketers to use “Generative Engine Optimization” (GEO), a new method that helps brands optimize their presence in AI search results, similar to traditional SEO.
The startup plans to use the new funding to accelerate growth, expand its team by 40 employees, and open a sales-focused office in New York City next year. Currently, the 20-person team is advertising widely across Berlin to attract talent. Peec AI faces competition from companies like New York-based Profound and Austrian startup OtterlyAI, making rapid expansion and visibility crucial in this emerging market.
Peec AI’s dashboard is designed around user prompts rather than keywords, letting brands track up to 25 prompts for €75 ($87) per month, with larger plans available. It provides actionable recommendations, such as joining relevant Reddit discussions or targeting specific media sources, to improve visibility and sentiment. Companies using the tool include Axel Springer, Chanel, n8n, ElevenLabs, and TUI, reflecting broad adoption across sectors.
Behind its simple interface lies a proprietary data pipeline that filters millions of AI queries to identify relevant questions about brands, products, and services. Meiners emphasized that the real value of Peec AI comes from this combination of sophisticated data analysis and practical marketing insights, highlighting that in the AI era, European startups like Peec AI are proving that data and application layers are just as important as the AI models themselves.
