Nigeria is stepping up its renewable energy ambitions with stronger collaborations between local firms and international investors. The Federal Government says these partnerships are vital to achieving sustainable power generation, reducing reliance on fossil fuels, and promoting a cleaner environment across the country.

Secretary to the Government of the Federation (SGF), George Akume, gave this assurance in Abuja while receiving a delegation from KF Manufacturing Company, Guangzhou, China, led by Managing Director and CEO, Bruce Zheng. He emphasized that renewable energy will play a central role in Nigeria’s economic recovery plan and its long-term sustainability strategy.

Akume explained that the government is creating a friendlier investment climate by removing multiple foreign exchange windows and abolishing unnecessary taxes. These reforms, he noted, are designed to attract serious investors, strengthen small and medium-sized enterprises, and ensure energy projects thrive across the country.

Reiterating Nigeria’s commitment to global clean energy transition, the SGF said the government is open to genuine partners who can deliver reliable and efficient power solutions for households, businesses, and industries. “Nigeria must keep pace with the global clean energy transition,” Akume stressed.

In response, KF Manufacturing’s CEO, Bruce Zheng, said the company is ready to partner with Nigerian authorities to expand access to clean and affordable energy. He noted that while renewable adoption is still limited within government institutions, KF Manufacturing can provide solar panels, inverters, and batteries that meet international green energy standards.
