First City Monument Bank (FCMB) has successfully empowered 44,278 entrepreneurs through its Business Empowerment Sustainability and Training (BEST) masterclass programme since 2018. This initiative aims to equip entrepreneurs with essential skills and knowledge to grow and sustain their businesses in the long term. The nationwide programme provides both financial and non-financial support, contributing significantly to the empowerment of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) across Nigeria.

FCMB’s commitment to fostering business success in Nigeria is evident in its comprehensive approach to entrepreneurial development. According to Yemisi Edun, FCMB’s Managing Director, the bank is closing gaps in entrepreneurship by offering training that drives innovation, growth, and competitiveness. She emphasized that such investment in entrepreneurial talent is vital for the long-term economic health of the country, contributing to job creation and national progress.

The BEST masterclass targets entrepreneurs in various regions, with a focus on areas like Ogun, Oyo, Kwara, Osun, and Ondo states. The training offers practical workshops and mentorship from industry experts, covering key aspects such as financial literacy, digital marketing, operational efficiency, and sustainable business practices. This empowers business owners with the tools needed to excel in a competitive market.

The current phase of the programme, which began in March 2025, is set to run until March 21, 2025. Participants will benefit from tailored financial solutions, mentorship opportunities, and valuable networking that can further boost their businesses. Through these efforts, FCMB continues to bridge capacity gaps and contribute to the growth of Nigeria’s entrepreneurial sector.
