Finance Minister Dr. Cassiel Ato Forson has emphasized the significance of the 2025 Budget in stabilizing Ghana’s fragile economy. During a youth engagement session hosted on X Spaces by social media influencer KalyJay, he acknowledged that despite efforts made so far, the country still faces significant financial challenges. He stressed the importance of taking immediate action to restore economic stability, noting that the country is not yet out of distress.

Dr. Forson highlighted key initiatives outlined in the upcoming budget, including measures to control inflation, maintain a stable exchange rate, and improve the overall economic climate. He pointed out that creating a predictable and stable economy would be central to the administration’s strategy moving forward.

In addition, the Finance Minister addressed the government’s focus on reducing domestic borrowing. This move aims to free up resources for the private sector, thereby fostering business growth and overall economic expansion. He emphasized that cutting government expenditure and limiting borrowing would provide more opportunities for the private sector to thrive.

Finally, Dr. Forson reassured the public, particularly the youth, that their input would significantly shape government policies. He dismissed claims that consultations with traders and the public were symbolic, reaffirming that the government was committed to listening to the people as it prepares for the budget presentation on March 11.
