Eurocham Nigeria Hosts 2025 Stakeholder Conference, Strengthens EU-Nigeria Economic Ties

Eurocham Nigeria recently hosted its 2025 Annual Stakeholder Conference in Lagos, bringing together European businesses, policymakers, and private-sector leaders to discuss Nigeria’s economic reforms and investment climate. With the theme “Achieving Growth Post-Reforms,” the event emphasized the role of public-private partnerships in driving sustainable economic transformation. Key discussions focused on trade, aviation, tourism, energy, finance, and workforce development, aiming to deepen EU-Nigeria business relations.

In his keynote address, Mr. Gautier Mignot, EU Ambassador to Nigeria and ECOWAS, reiterated the European Union’s dedication to supporting Nigeria’s economic growth. He introduced the EU-Eurocham Support Grant, a new initiative designed to boost private-sector expansion. Mr. Yann Gilbert, President of Eurocham Nigeria, highlighted the organization’s advocacy for policies that enhance business operations and investments between Nigeria and Europe.

The Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Mr. Festus Keyamo (SAN), underscored aviation’s role as a catalyst for economic growth, citing ongoing infrastructure developments and investment prospects in Nigeria’s air transport sector. Additionally, Ms. Danelee Masia, an economist at Deutsche Bank, provided insights into Nigeria’s economic recovery, focusing on key fiscal reforms, foreign exchange adjustments, and investment trends shaping the country’s future.

A panel discussion, moderated by Ifeoma Finnih, explored how businesses can thrive amid Nigeria’s evolving economic landscape. Topics included energy sector reforms, tourism’s role in post-reform growth, workforce transformation, regulatory improvements, and investment incentives. Other speakers, such as Princess Zahrah Mustapha Audu, Director General of PEBEC, and Mr. Olufemi Modupe Awoyemi, Founder of Proshare Limited, shared insights on business policy reforms and financial sector developments.

Eurocham Nigeria reaffirmed its commitment to fostering stronger partnerships between Nigeria and the EU business community, advocating for pro-business policies and supporting regulatory improvements. As a key platform representing European businesses in Nigeria, Eurocham continues to drive economic cooperation, ensuring that EU investments contribute significantly to Nigeria’s long-term prosperity.
