Who is Tan Su Shan, Singapore bank DBS’s incoming CEO?

Tan Su Shan will take over as CEO of DBS Group from March, succeeding Piyush Gupta, who has led the bank for 14 years. Tan will be the first woman and the first internal candidate to lead Southeast Asia’s largest bank.

Tan, 56, is a Singaporean with 35 years of experience in banking, including roles at ING Baring Securities, Morgan Stanley, and Citigroup before joining DBS in 2010.

At DBS, she has overseen various banking divisions and was involved in managing the bank’s tech resilience programs.

Tan’s immediate focus will be on enhancing DBS’s technology capabilities, addressing past service disruptions and regulatory issues.
