The Nigerian Airspace Management Agency (NAMA) has stopped its plan to raise navigational charges for airlines. This decision came after Minister of Aviation Festus Keyamo asked them to reconsider due to the country’s current economic struggles.

NAMA had planned to double the charges starting in September, which worried passengers about higher ticket prices. The charges had not been changed since 2008.

The Minister stressed the need for more discussion before any changes, showing the government’s commitment to addressing the financial concerns of Nigerians and the aviation industry.
