Unilever Sees 4% Profit Rise in H1 2024

Unilever reported a 4% increase in net profit for the first six months of 2024, reaching 3.7 billion euros ($4.0 billion), driven by higher sales.

The British consumer goods giant, known for products like Cif cleaner, Dove soap, and Ben & Jerry’s ice cream, saw both sales volume and prices rise.

CEO Hein Schumacher emphasized the company’s focus on transforming Unilever into a consistently higher-performing business.

Earlier this year, Unilever announced plans to create a standalone ice cream business, part of a major restructuring expected to affect 7,500 mainly office-based jobs. T

his overhaul aims to save 800 million euros over the next three years, reducing its global workforce from approximately 128,000 employees.
