Sterling Bank has partnered with the School of Politics, Policy, and Governance (SPPG) to transform the verification of academic credentials in Nigeria using blockchain technology. This collaboration aims to enhance the efficiency, security, and accessibility of academic credentials.

Sterling Bank is backing the implementation of VX Technologies’ innovative blockchain-based digital certification program to address the challenges of managing and verifying academic credentials through traditional paper-based systems.

Obinna Ukachukwu, Chief Growth Officer at Sterling Bank, expressed excitement about the partnership with VX Technologies and SPPG. He highlighted the bank’s belief in innovation as a driver of progress and its commitment to transforming lives through education.

Ukachukwu noted that this initiative aligns with Sterling Bank’s H.E.A.R.T strategy for Education, which focuses on Access and Equity. The blockchain technology will provide graduates from SPPG with secure, tamper-proof digital certificates, ensuring the authenticity of their academic achievements.

Ryan Hawkos, Director of Operations at VX Technologies, acknowledged Sterling Bank’s vital funding for the initial phase of the project. He emphasized the importance of this collaboration in leveraging blockchain technology to revolutionize credential verification in Nigeria, reflecting Sterling Bank’s dedication to fostering innovation and driving positive change in the education sector.
