The World Bank, through its Agro-Climatic Resilience in Semi-Arid Landscapes (ACReSAL) program, has disbursed a $250,000 revolving loan to 10 vulnerable communities in Nasarawa State.

This initiative aims to support farmers, improve agricultural output, and promote environmental restoration. A total of 620 beneficiaries, including both men and women, from Doma and Toto local government areas will receive funds.

This project aligns with the World Bank’s core objective of poverty reduction and ecological restoration. Dr. Joy Iganya Agene, Task Team Leader for ACReSAL, expressed satisfaction with the selection process for the loan recipients.

The project is part of a larger $700 million initiative funded by the World Bank that targets environmental challenges, poor land use practices, and ecological restoration across 19 northern Nigerian states and the Federal Capital Territory.
