The Presidential Enabling Business Environment Council (PEBEC) has revealed that only 10 out of 39 government Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) scored above 50% in compliance with the Business Facilitation Act (BFA) for the year 2023.
This low performance prompted PEBEC to encourage MDAs to establish BFA Implementation Reform Committees to enhance efficiency and transparency.
With a weighted average score of 34.87% across all MDAs, PEBEC emphasized the need for strategic measures to improve sector-specific metrics. MDAs are urged to take concrete steps to enhance their ratings before the end of the 2024 reporting period.
Notably, the Nigerian Content Development and Monitoring Board (NCDMB) achieved the highest score of 70.07% in compliance with the BFA, leading the efficiency and transparency ranking among other government agencies.
