As the controversy surrounding the death of tilapia fish in Epe persists, the Dredgers Association of Nigeria (DAN) has issued a stern warning of potential legal action against Epe tilapia fish farmers.

The Executive Secretary of DAN, Mr. Richard Ntan, expressed dismay over what he termed as “unsubstantiated claims” made by the farmers in the media, despite an agreement not to speak to the press. Ntan emphasized that such actions could undermine the ongoing investigative process by the Minerals and Environmental Management Committee.

DAN raised concerns about a possible smear campaign against its member, Renecon Limited, suspecting foul play behind the accusations. In response to the threat, the Chairman of Ebute Afuye Fish Farmers Agricultural Multipurpose Society, Rahmon Lasisi, remained undeterred, inviting the association to proceed with legal action.
