Several communities in Abuja, Lagos, and Nasarawa are currently experiencing power outages as a result of technical glitches affecting transmission stations.
The Ikeja Electricity Distribution Company (DisCo) stated that the service disruption is due to significant load restrictions across many transmission load centres, impacting areas such as Oworo, Maryland, Itire, Isolo, Ogba, Alausa, Ejigbo, Alimosho, and others in Lagos.
Apologizing for any inconvenience caused, Ikeja DisCo assured customers that they are actively working with relevant stakeholders to restore normal operations. Similarly, the Abuja Electricity Distribution Company (DisCo) informed customers in Nasarawa that they are experiencing darkness due to windstorms bringing down transmission lines.
Additionally, some areas in the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) are without power due to technical faults. Efforts are underway to rectify the technical issues and restore electricity to affected communities, with DisCos collaborating with stakeholders to address the situation promptly.
