Wema Bank has introduced the second cohort for the FGN-ALAT Digital Skillnovation Programme, in collaboration with the Federal Government of Nigeria. This groundbreaking initiative aims to train and equip 2,000,000 youths and 1,000,000 MSMEs across Nigeria with advanced digital skills essential for success in today’s digital world.

Since its inception in 2023, the programme has already benefited over 300,000 Nigerian youths and business owners, serving as a platform for launching their careers and businesses. The second cohort, conducted entirely online, provided participants from all states in Nigeria with self-paced online learning experiences.

Starting in the second quarter of 2024, Cohort 2 will transition to physical training sessions, covering vital digital skills such as software engineering, product management, business analysis, cloud computing, and product design.

Tunde Mabawonku, Wema Bank’s Executive Director of Retail and Digital Business, highlighted the programme’s crucial role in addressing gaps in Nigeria’s economic landscape and contributing to national development.
