Nigeria boosts power grid with new equipment

FGN Power Company, responsible for executing the Presidential Power Initiative (PPI) in Nigeria, has received 10 transformers and 10 Mobile Substations to enhance the nation’s transmission capacity.

Kenny Anuwe, the company’s managing director, announced the receipt of the equipment from Siemens Energy, emphasizing their potential to revolutionize power delivery and meet increasing energy demands across Nigeria.The statement revealed that the transformers and substations will be deployed at key locations such as Okene, Amukpe, Potiskum, and others, aiming to augment Nigeria’s transmission capability.

The deployment of modern equipment is expected to enhance flexibility, efficiency, and overall performance in the country’s power transmission system, marking a positive stride towards achieving sustainable energy goals.
