The management of Kaduna Electricity Distribution Company has clarified misconceptions surrounding the payment for electricity consumed during Ramadan by residents in Kebbi State.
Contrary to speculations, Governor Nasir Idris of Kebbi State did not directly pay for the electricity supply but rather subsidized the cost, aiming to improve the power supply during the fasting period.
Abdulazeez Abdullahi, the Head of Corporate Communication at Kaduna Electric, emphasized that the governor’s subsidy aimed to enhance electricity provision during Ramadan. He clarified that the Kebbi governor had facilitated discussions with Kaduna Electric’s management to strategize on improving electricity supply to the state.
Furthermore, Kaduna Electric acknowledged the governor’s commitment to settling outstanding debts owed by state Ministries, Departments, and Agencies for electricity consumption.
