Dangote spends N15bn on food intervention programme

Aliko Dangote, President of the Dangote Group, has allocated approximately N15 billion to a food intervention programme launched in Kano. The program aims to distribute over one million 10kg bags of food across all 774 local government areas in the country.

Speaking at the launch, Dangote emphasized the significance of compassion and generosity, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan. He highlighted the importance of collective efforts in supporting the government to alleviate hunger nationwide, highlighting the distribution of rice as a symbol of solidarity and compassion.

The food intervention programme, scheduled from March to early April 2024, emphasizes collaboration with state and local governments, as well as community partners, to ensure effective distribution to vulnerable populations regardless of background or affiliation.
