Chief Adegboyega Oyetola, Minister of Marine and Blue Economy, emphasized the need for the federal government to fully support the Nigerian Ports Authority (NPA) in addressing factors hindering the optimal utilization of national assets.
Speaking at the commissioning of road infrastructure and mooring boats at Onne port in Rivers State, Chief Oyetola highlighted the importance of maximizing the efficiency and capacity of ports in the eastern axis to achieve key performance indicators (KPIs).
He emphasized the significant potential of Onne and other port complexes in the region, stressing the importance of investing in port infrastructure. He noted ongoing investments totaling over One Billion USD in the reconstruction and rehabilitation of ports, including the final stages of investment in Onne port.
