The Federal Government is actively engaging with aircraft leasing and manufacturing companies to boost local investments in Nigeria’s aviation sector. Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, highlighted the importance of aircraft leasing, particularly dry leasing, in enhancing the operations of local airline operators.
Dry leasing, a common practice among major airlines globally, allows operators to access aircraft without the financial burden of purchasing them outright. Keyamo emphasized the role of dry leasing in improving efficiency and sustainability within the aviation industry.
Additionally, the minister underscored the importance of establishing Maintenance, Repair, and Overhaul (MRO) facilities to further drive growth and efficiency in Nigeria’s aviation sector. These initiatives aim to stimulate local investments and enhance the overall competitiveness of the industry.
