The Bank of Industry (BOI) has announced the disbursement of $6.02 million out of its $10 million investment commitment to Alitheia Fund, aimed at supporting gender equality and enhancing women’s financial inclusion efforts.
Dr. Olasupo Olusi, the Managing Director of BOI, revealed this during the BOI International Women’s Day (IWD) 2024 event themed “Inspire Inclusion.”Speaking at the event, Olusi, represented by Ms. Mabel Ndagi, Executive Director of the Micro Enterprise Directorate at BOI, highlighted Alitheia Fund’s role as a pioneering $100 million gender-lens fund. The fund focuses on investing in women-owned, women-led, or women-servicing companies across various sectors to promote gender equality and empower women economically.
The theme of the 2024 IWD, “Inspire Inclusion,” resonates with BOI’s commitment to fostering a diverse and inclusive workplace and clientele portfolio. Olusi emphasized that this year’s theme challenges individuals and organizations to go beyond conventional norms and embrace principles of diversity, equity, and inclusion.
