Minister of Aviation and Aerospace Development, Festus Keyamo, revealed on Wednesday that the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) is probing the Nigeria Air deal initiated by his predecessor, Hadi Sirika.
Keyamo made this disclosure during an appearance on Channels TV Politics Today, stating that a criminal investigation is underway, and he has requested the report.
Addressing the national carrier issue, Keyamo emphasized that no local airline would be designated as a national carrier. Instead, the government aims to establish a proper national carrier. He also announced that the ministry will commence publishing reports of flight cancellations and delays by local airlines starting next week.
Keyamo emphasized the delicate nature of the flight delay and cancellation issue, highlighting the importance of handling it carefully to avoid discouraging potential investors.
